Report of interns Andrey Efimenko and Amir Dosanov on holding a cultural and educational event with students of the 1st and 3rd courses

On September 24, 2022, master’s student Andrey Efimenko together with Amir Dosanov held a cultural and educational event with students of the 3rd and 1st courses of the Faculty of History at the State Military History Museum of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of the discipline "Ancient History of Kazakhstan", Andrey Efimenko invited 1st-year students, and Amir Dosanov invited 3rd-year students. The meeting was planned in advance, the students got acquainted with the exhibits together with the guide of this museum. The whole tour took place in the halls of Antiquity and the Middle Ages, the Military History of the twentieth century and the Modern Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Paying special attention to the hall of Ancient History, 1st year students were able to get acquainted with the exhibits of that era, to see what military affairs were then and how it was improved in the Middle Ages and in subsequent centuries. Students, of course, also got acquainted with all the exhibits presented in the halls of the museum, military history, the history of military affairs, military equipment, important events and dates.

For example, students saw a reconstruction of the armor of a warrior of the Late Middle Ages. We got acquainted with the reconstruction of the Orbulak battle. The battle during the Kazakh-Dzungarian war, in which a detachment of 600 Kazakh soldiers led by Zhangir Khan and a 20,000-strong Bukhara army led by Yalangtush Bahadur defeated the army of Erdeni-Batur in 1643.

The 3rd floor of the museum was also visited, where other military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as the border guard service, are represented. At the end of the tour, a general photo was taken with the students in the lobby of the museum.
