Open Curatorial Hour Report

As part of professional pedagogical practice, on November 14, 2021, 2nd year undergraduates Z. Tumyrza and A. Suleimenov organized a visiting curatorial hour with students of the I-22 group, during which they visited the «ALZHIR» — Museum-Memorial Complex of Victims of Political Repression and Totalitarianism.

The main purpose of the curatorial hour is to introduce students to one of the most tragic events in the country's past. During the lesson, students watched the documentary film «The Fierce Cold of ALZHIR», visited two main expositions - the «Alash» hall, which presents the history of Kazakhstan from the moment of joining the Russian Empire, as well as the Soviet period, and «ALZHIR», which is dedicated to the history Akmola camp.

Students also visited such museum objects as the «Stalin's carriage», the «Arch of Sorrow» monument, the «Tears» stele and the wall of memory.
