FROM THE MIDDLE ASIAN POSTER OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY TO SILICONE VALLEY

The teaching staff of the Kazakhstan’s History Department, and doctoral students of the 1st and 2nd courses of study took part in two scientific seminars of the Hungarian sociologist, the director of the Institute of Sociology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1998-2010), the director of the Center for Social Policy of the University of Budapest Corvinus, a visiting professor at ENU named after L.N. Gumylev Pаl Tamash.

The seminars were organized with the support of the Department of Sociology at the Ukrainian Cultural Center of ENU on September 24 and October 1, 2019. Such cooperation between the two departments were very productive (head of the department of history of Kazakhstan, doctor of historical sciences Musabalina G.T., head of the department of sociology, doctor PhD Otar E.S.).

The seminars were attended by Professor Kovalskaya S.I., associate professors Rakhimbekova A.K., Khasenova Zh.O., and doctoral students Abdinassir N., Khizat A., Daurbekov A., Satanov A. and others.

The topics proposed by the professor for discussion aroused great interest among future scientists: “Soviet Central Asian posters of the 20-40s of the XX century” and “Creation and prospect of a silicone valley in Central Asia”. Doctoral students also got the opportunity to exchange views on the topics of doctoral dissertations. Professor Pal Tomash generously shared his electronic library on the history and culture of Central Asia.
