Winter and summer schools

From June 20 to July 2, 2019 in the East Kazakhstan region, near the legendary village of Toktamys Batyr, the International Siberian Field Archaeological School "Antiquities of the Great Steppe in the stream of millennia: innovations in the methodology of archaeological and ethnographic research", organized by students and teachers of the Department of Archeology and Ethnography Institute of Humanities NSU, REC "New Archeology" NSU and the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov (Kazakhstan)

As part of the program, students will study the basics of tacheometric surveying, get acquainted with the possibilities of using dendrochronology methods in archaeological research, and acquire skills in working with paleoanthropological material in the field. Special attention in the field school program will be given to new methods in archeology, ethnography and ethnology: experimental research, creation of 3D models of artifacts and objects using the photogrammetry method, methods of statistical processing of materials.

On May 25-June 5, 2020, the Summer School "Preservation of Antiquities of the Great Steppe: Modern Methods of Communication and Visualization" will be held with the participation of the archaeological school of Novosibirsk State University (Novosibirsk, RF).
