Department of History of Kazakhstan

  The Department of History of Kazakhstan in accordance with the educational programs 6B02203, 7M02203, 8D02203 - "History" prepares "Bachelor of Arts", "Master of Arts" and PhD philosophy. Also at the faculty there is a dissertation council in the direction 8D02203 - "History". As well as: 1) an educational program of a two-degree master's program between the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Altai State University (7M02203 - "History", 46.04.01 "Historical education in modern society"); 2) between the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Tomsk State University (7M02203 - "History", 46.04.03 in the direction of "Anthropology and Ethnology"), a two-degree educational program of the master's program "Migration Studies" is being implemented.

 Based on modern educational, scientific and innovative and proven experience in training specialists in educational programs 6B02203, 7M02203, 8D02203 - "History", contacts have been established with foreign universities, research institutes and centers.

 Speaking about the history of the department, the specialty history begins with the opening of the Tselinograd Pedagogical Institute and its formation as a higher pedagogical educational institution in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1962, about 50 students were enrolled in the Faculty of History and Philology with a degree in History.

 On October 18, 1987, the historical department becomes an independent faculty, the first department and dean's office are organized. Since the foundation of the department, it was headed by a veteran of the Great Patriotic War P.E.Tarasenko, such scientists as F.M. Uysumbaeva and G.M. Mukhamedzhanov and also worked as senior laboratory assistants, a graduate of Tomsk State University S.I. Kovalskaya and S.K. Idrisov. In that year, a correspondence department for 50 places was opened, the section "History and the German language." In 1991, the department "History and the Kazakh language" was opened at the faculty to train history teachers in Russian and Kazakh schools.

Since 1992, the Department of History of Kazakhstan was headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor M.M. Dzhanpeisova. In 1997, the Tselinograd State Pedagogical and Tselinograd Civil Engineering Institutes were merged. At the Department of History of Kazakhstan in different years were such scientists as L.Ya. Boroshenko, N.P. Babina B.Kh. Khusainov, A.Zh. Sarsenov, S.Sh. Mukhamedzhanova, A.Zh. Amanbaev, B.M. Abdrakhmanova, G.M. Kakenova, D.A. Mahat.

 In subsequent years, the department was headed by A.K. Kusainov, Kh.M. Abzhanov, K.A. Akhmetov, Z.E. Kabuldinov, T.S. Sadykov, G.T. Musabalin. Since 2019, the department has been headed by candidate of historical sciences, associate professor G.I. Kushenova.

 Currently, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.E. Komekov, E.B. Sydykov, professors - T.S. Sadykov, Z.O. Dukenbaeva, G.T. Musabalina, S.I. Kovalskaya, M.A. Alpysbes, D. Abdilashimovich, A.S. Musagaliyeva, associate professors - G.K. Ermenbaeva, K.O. Seitkazin, G.K. Zhapekova, O.Zh. Bekmaganbetov, N.E. Sailaubaeva, S.K. Kabyltaeva, senior lecturers - N.N. Akpanbet, K.D. Zhylkybaev, B. Muratbekkyzy, Zh.O. Khasenova, Zh.S. Erdenbekova, A.S. Bizhanov, S.B. Orazaev.

 Thus, the educational process for educational programs is provided by highly qualified teaching staff of the Department of History of Kazakhstan. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the staff of the department consisted of 21 teachers, including doctors of science, professors - 7, candidates of science, associate professors - 6, PhD - 2, masters of humanities - 6, of which doctoral graduates - 1.
