February 24 this year, on the initiative of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Historical Faculty of the ENU named after LN. Gumilev hosted a competition of scientific projects on the theme "Sacred secrets of the Great Steppe" among schoolchildren of Astana.
The organizing committee of the contest received more than 20 scientific projects, 10 of them were selected by the commission. During the contest such topics as "History of ancient Kazakhstan (from the Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age"), "Medieval Kazakhstan in archaeological sources", "Kazakh ethnography and folklore" were discussed.
The participants of the competition defended their reports in Kazakh and Russian. Prize-winners and participants of the contest are schoolchildren of 9-11 grades of schools №48, №51, №59, №27, №69, №74, №16 of the city of Astana.
List of winners: 1-place, №69 Chaky Ajarjyn; 2nd place, №74 Abayeva Ayan; 2nd place, №27 Zhamantai Sut; 3 place, №59 Moldatay Nұray, 3rd place, №51 Arynbekova Aida, 3rd place, №48 Shaizara Bakhytgul. Schoolchildren were awarded certificates, diplomas, as well as cash prizes.
